Cintiq 13 HD Graphic Pen Tablet for Drawing

Those who dedicate yourselves to the graphic design, surely you know the Cintiq family of Wacom. Monitors with support for optical pencils that make drawing more comfortable and intuitive than if we use a digitizing tablet. In this niche, this company has become strong.
Yesterday, in Barcelona, Wacom presented the model of its new family: the 13-inch Cintiq HD . A priori, a jump of only one inch in its smallest size. However, it comes with a few novelties. Today we tell you our impressions.
The pleasure of working on a monitor with stylus
When Wacom launched the Cintiq 12WX , there was a small detail in its technical specifications that, in the long run, was going to become a problem for those seeking a fairly high level of accuracy: resolution. Although its 1280x800 were not bad, for some it was not enough.
Now, her 13-inch sister makes the leap to high definition and it is something that is noticeable since we put our eyes on her. Everything is seen with complete clarity and without any problem at any angle of vision. Sorry, yes, the reflections that appear in the photos: the booth lighting was not the best.

Unlike its older sisters, this monitor is designed to be used anywhere. We can move it, rotate it and work on it supporting the hands without fear of breaking it, although if we have metal objects like bracelets it is possible that we scratch the outer glass, warns the people of Wacom.
The distribution of the buttons has also changed, now we have less but the rosette is quite versatile and easily replaces the lack of more keys. We can configure them to our liking and, although in some moments we will continue depending on the keyboard, we can forget about it in many moments.
In addition, the monitor is designed to be used with both hands. We just have to turn it and put the physical buttons in the hand that suits us best. At the connector level, we have a USB for when we want to open a document quickly. Both the video output and the energy are distributed by the same cable.
The pencil also comes with some changes, but they are simply superficial. A very curious detail is the possibility of using the pencil holder as a mechanical pencil. As you know, to be pressure levels, does not change according to the tip that we put but the feeling that gives. As for example the one that includes a small spring to imitate the movement of a brush.
Regarding usability, it does not matter if we already have experience with these monitors or not. You only need to pick up the pencil and start drawing to realize that the level of precision and the more than 2000 pressure levels do their job very well. It does not matter the inclination of the pencil, whether we are drawing or simply moving through the menus: it is perfect.
